M-STEM – Metaverse-Based STEM Education for a Sustainable and Resilient Future (2023-1-FR01-KA220-SCH-000151516) is a Cooperation Partnership in School Education co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The project aims to modernize STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education by integrating it with cutting-edge Metaverse technologies, offering innovative, immersive, and inclusive learning experiences for both teachers and students.

Objectives

M-STEM seeks to:

    • Develop and implement a novel educational framework that integrates the use of Metaverse technologies into STEM education.
    • Train and empower teachers with the necessary digital and pedagogical skills to use virtual and augmented reality tools in their classrooms.
    • Enhance students’ engagement and performance in STEM subjects through interactive, hands-on learning in virtual environments.
    • Promote interest in STEM careers among young learners, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration skills essential for the 21st-century workforce.

Key Results

    • The main intellectual outputs of the project include:
    • The M-STEM Pedagogical Strategy – a comprehensive teaching framework aligning STEM with Metaverse-based learning approaches.
    • The M-STEM Curriculum and Training Contents – structured educational materials and professional development modules for teachers.
    • The M-STEM VR Simulation App – an interactive Metaverse platform where students can explore, experiment, and apply STEM principles in a virtual setting.
    • The M-STEM Policy Recommendation Report – guidelines for policymakers to support the integration of immersive technologies into STEM education systems across Europe.

Partnership and Impact

Led by Lycée polyvalent Clément Ader (France), M-STEM brings together partners from Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Romania, and Austria, combining educational, technical, and research expertise to ensure a high-impact, sustainable outcome.
By bridging the gap between traditional education and digital innovation, M-STEM contributes to a more sustainable, resilient, and digitally skilled generation ready to meet the challenges of the future.
